Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell has allocated $1 million of discretionary funding to kickstart a grant program to assist small businesses in the 13th District during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This specific funding historically would have been utilized for other purposes such as public infrastructure projects.

The “Emergency Small Business Grant Program” will assist businesses in the 13th District that have at least three and up to 26 employees. The program will be administered in partnership with EWDD.

**Applications will be accepted starting August 13 at 8 AM, and ending Monday, August 17, at 11:59PM (online). The application can be found here – https://cd13.lacity.org/grant***

The City’s Economic and Workforce Development Department is the program manager and has the following requirements from applicants:

  • Must have an established business in the 13th District
  • Must have “active” status with CA Secretary of State
  • Must provide documents in the application (current BTRC, W-9, etc.) 
  • Must have at least three and up to 26 employees
    Economically affected by COVID-19
