How to Make Hollywood Blvd Safer?
At our September 18, 2023 Governing Board Meeting we heard a presentation about the Hollywood Blvd Safety Project which is focused on reducing pedestrian and bicycle accidents between Gower Street and Lyman Place.
In 2019 this project which is part of the VisionZero project installed:
- Continental Crosswalks
- Left turn calming treatment at Hollywood/Normandie
- Modular refuge island at Hollywood/Lyman
- 3 Pedestrian Flashing Beacons
- Hollywood/Winona
- Hollywood/Rodney
- Hollywood/Lyman
Planned for next year are Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons on crosswalks at Winona, Rodney and Hobart.
VisionZero is seeking public input as they consider next steps which may include protected bike lanes on each side of the street.
