Rhe second iteration of the City’s Emergency Rental Assistance Subsidy (ERAS) will open on Tuesday, March 30th.

Application Information

Administered by the Housing & Community Investment Department (HCID), ERAP provides federal and state emergency rental assistance funds to assist low-income renters who have been unable to pay their rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both landlords and low-income renters living in the City of Los Angeles may apply, regardless of immigration status

From 8 am next Tuesday, March 30 through 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021, applications will be available in multiple languages at hcidla.lacity.org. There will also be phone support available in multiple languages, and TTY for persons with hearing or speech impairments. Please go to hcidla.lacity.org for more information.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, renters must be :

  • Residents of the City of Los Angeles, regardless of immigration status. To verify that an address is in the City of Los Angeles go to neighborhoodinfo.lacity.org;
  • One or more adults within the household must have qualified for unemployment benefits or experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship dues, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19 outbreak; and
  • The household income must be at or below 50% of the area median income (AMI), with priority given to households with incomes below 30% AMI.  You can find information on 30% and 50% AMI incomes below.**
