Since ICE first arrived in Los Angeles, the neighborhood councils have not been briefed by Council Member Hugo-Soto Martinez’s office regarding any coordinated plan to protect our community from ICE.

In light of the raids at the Home Depot this morning and ICE attempting to set up at Dodger Stadium, it has now become more urgent that our council office organize and brief the neighborhood councils on the city’s plans going forward.

Hence, at this week’s monthly EHNC Governing Board Meeting, our neighborhood’s elected representatives voted unanimously on the following statement to CD13.

“The East Hollywood Neighborhood Council urgently requests that our city council office stay in near constant communication with the neighborhood councils in times of emergency.

Therefore, the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council demands that Los Angeles City Council member Hugo Soto-Martinez and the Council District 13 staff immediately organize a meeting of the CD13 Neighborhood Council presidents and vice presidents for the purpose of informing and organizing the neighborhood councils around a shared strategy regarding the situation with ICE and the National Guard.
