The 2010 election of the EHNC Governing Board will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Faculty and Staff Center, Los Angeles City College, 855 N. Vermont Ave.

As a certified neighborhood council in the City of Los Angeles, the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council is required to have an election to determine who will fill the 18 seats in the EHNC's Governing Board.

The Governing Board's responsibilities are to vote on issues, policies and positions of the EHNC and to oversee the neighborhood council's $45,000 budget for community improvements and operating expenses.

Anyone 16 years or older who is a stakeholder of East Hollywood (lives, works, owns property, attends school, is a member of a faith-based organization (church, synagogue, temple, ministry group), is a staff or board member of a non-profit organization serving East Hollywood or has a vested interest in the community) is eligible to vote in the election.

Neighborhood council elections are different than primary and general elections; In a neighborhood council election, registration is done at the polling place just prior to voting and only stakeholdership is required to register - one need not be a United States citizen.

Registration does not require any identification, however one is required to sign under penalty of perjury that they are a qualified stakeholder.

Below is a listing of all candidates; Write-In candidates will not appear on the ballot, but their names will be on display inside the voting booth. For more information on a candidate, please click on the "Candidate Statement" next to their name (link goes to City Clerk's website).
